While Wellington was lashed with gale force winds and heavy rains yet again meaning Gates was canceled Jamie and Otis were up in Waikato for the Tri-Series Champs. 122 riders were entered for two days of racing over three tracks. Saturday was racing in Hamilton and in the evening racing at Cambridge with 4 motos at each Sunday was at Te Awamutu consisting of 4 motos and a deadman final.

A lot goes on in the background for these large events. Hamilton hand a club night on Thursday night with their kitchen pumping out 90 burgers and chips to hungry riders, coaches and parents.

Otis had a good start at Hamilton winning two of his motos, a second and coming seventh in his final moto.

Jamie Harkness had a consistent morning with two fourth place positions, a third and a second.

Racing in the evening moved to Cambridge with another four motos. Otis continued a strong performance with two third placings and two second placings for the evening. Jamie continued his consist performance with two thirds and two fourths for the evening.

Sunday morning was the final day of the Tri-Series held at Te Awamutu BMX.

Otis had a strong morning with a first to start the day off followed by second in his next three motos. Otis faced two finals coming first and fourth finishing in Fourth place for 10 Boys.
Jamie again had a consist performance placing third in all his motos and fifth in the final for 16 Boys. Jamie beat Liam Parkes (NZ7) and Deacon Conner (NZ1). Jamie also competed in the Superclass 15+ Males with two fourth places. two sixth places and eighth in the B-final.
